Easy Apple Dumplings

2 (8oz) cans crescent rolls

2 sticks butter

1½ cups brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp cinnamon

1½ cup 7UP (or other lemon soda)

2 cups apples (Golden Delicious or Granny Smith)

 

Directions:

Butter a 9x13 baking pan, preheat oven at 350 degrees.


Peel and core apples, then cut apple into 8 slices.


Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll and place in buttered dish.


Melt butter, stir in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.  When its thickened, remove from heat and pour over dumplings.


Pour the soda in the middle and along the edges of the pan (not the rolls.)


Bake for 35-45 minutes or until they are golden brown.


Serve warm.
