Apple Dumplings

2 cups flour

½ tsp salt

Butter

1 tsp baking powder

2 Tbsp sugar

Brown sugar

2/3 cup butter flavored Crisco

2/3 cup milk

Cinnamon

6 apples, peeled and cored

 

Directions:

Blend all dry ingredients (except brown sugar and cinnamon). Cut in the Crisco. Add in the milk and knead until smooth dough forms. Roll dough ¼ inch thick and cut into 6 even pieces. For each dumpling use an apple,1 tsp brown sugar, and a pat of butter wrapped in a piece of dough. Place dumplings in a shallow baking dish and sprinkle each with cinnamon. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Can serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
