Amish Vanilla Pie

Cook until thick:

1 cup sugar

1 cup King Syrup

1 egg, beaten     

4 tbsp flour

2 cups water

2 tsp vanilla

Cool.

 

Crumb mixture:

2 cups flour

1 cup brown sugar

¼ cup butter

¼ cup shortening

1 tsp soda

1 tsp cream of tartar

 

Mix into crumbs.  Pour cooled mixture into 2 unbaked pie shells (9 inch) and cover with crumb mixture.  


Bake in a 350 degree for 40 to 45 minutes.
